William Travilla began as a costume designer, making a name for himself by designing for Marilyn Monroe in 8 of her films.
He started his own label in the 1950's, and this gorgeous purple cape was created in the late 1970's. It is a shimmering satin on the outside, and what feels like a wool blend lining. The trim is a purple ruffle, and the shape of the cape when laid flat is almost triangular.
The long arms can be wrapped like a scarf around the neck, or worn long by your side. This beautiful cape is a collectable piece, but has two very small holes in the lining that make the price more reasonable and the label has some shredding. These are all unseen flaws, the outside of the cape is in excellent condition!
